Plateau Governor Collaborates with African Development Bank President to Advance Agro-Industrialization Drive.

In a bid to propel Plateau State‘s economic growth, the Executive Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, engaged in crucial talks with Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), in Abuja.

According to Gyang Bere, Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, the meeting centered on forging a collaborative partnership to accelerate the state’s socio-economic development agenda, particularly in the agricultural sector.

Governor Mutfwang reiterated his administration’s commitment to leveraging the bank’s initiatives, with a focus on areas such as the Special Agro Processing Zones project, establishment of new crop zones, and adoption of digital farming practices.

Dr. Akinwumi Adesina praised Plateau State for its agricultural potential and emphasized its significance in ensuring food security and boosting Nigeria’s GDP growth.

The Governor’s delegation included Hon. Ishaku Bugama, Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon. Grace Dongkum, Commissioner for Finance, and Manji Wilson, Chief Technical Adviser on Development Partnerships and Diaspora Engagements.

This collaboration underscores Plateau State‘s determination to harness its agricultural resources for sustainable development.
