Plateau State Association, USA, Inc. (PSA-USA) Extends Aid to Bokkos IDPs


In a compassionate gesture, the Plateau State Association, USA, Inc. (PSA-USA) delivered essential relief supplies to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria. On Friday, January 26, 2024, the association distributed bags of rice, vegetable oil, flour, and other necessities to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the ongoing crisis.


Dr. Bartholomew Shepkong, President of PSA-USA, personally visited the central IDP camp located at the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN central) to assess the situation firsthand. Expressing deep concern for the victims of Fulani attacks, Dr. Shepkong conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the association, acknowledging the hardships faced by the displaced individuals.

During his visit, Dr. Shepkong emphasized the solidarity of PSA-USA with the affected community, citing personal connections to those impacted by the violence. He assured the IDPs of ongoing support from the diaspora and pledged to continue providing assistance to alleviate their suffering.


Hon. Zakka Akos, former Local Government Chairman of Bokkos and member of the IDP support committee, highlighted the widespread nature of the crisis, extending beyond Bokkos into neighboring areas like Mangu. Despite the challenges, he commended the tireless efforts of aid workers in attending to the needs of the displaced population.

Rev. Mandong Steven Bitrus, Chairman of the IDP support committee, expressed gratitude to PSA-USA for their generosity and urged for further assistance from concerned individuals and organizations. With thousands of displaced persons spread across numerous camps, Rev. Bitrus emphasized the urgent need for continued aid, particularly in rebuilding homes once the security situation improves.

Rev. Steven Saleh, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Bokkos Local Government, echoed appreciation for the support extended by PSA-USA, recognizing their solidarity in times of adversity. He conveyed heartfelt thanks and blessings to the association for their invaluable assistance to those in need.

As the crisis persists, the support and kindness demonstrated by PSA-USA serve as a beacon of hope for the displaced communities, reaffirming the importance of international solidarity in times of crisis.
